Cassiopeia
Coding
Schedar, α Cassiopeiae
Focused, steady, instrumental.
Lo-fi / ambient electronic. Instrumental only. Focus timer included.
Five stars, five ways to work.
The five brightest stars of Cassiopeia are Coding, Studying, Deep Work, Gaming and Chill. Each one sets the music style, the background sound and whether a timer appears. A sixth point, off the figure, takes a mood in your own words.
1Pick a star
Point at a star to read what it is for, then choose the one that matches what you are about to do.
2The atmosphere changes
Music suggestions, background sounds and the timer adjust to that mode. Coding, Studying and Deep Work get a focus timer.
3Press play
Add your own music, mix in rain or brown noise, start a Pomodoro. Every finished session is saved to your Galaxy.

Same sky, two ways in.
If you write code
CodingDeep Work
Both are instrumental only, so nothing with words competes with what you are reading.
- Lo-fi and ambient electronic in Coding, minimal drone in Deep Work.
- Deep Work opens with its focus timer ready. Nothing else on screen.
- Brown and white noise to cover the room around you.
- A single-block timer for when 25-minute cycles don't fit.
If you study
Studying
Calm and sustained, paced for the third hour as well as the first.
- Pomodoro cycles with breaks between them.
- Café and rain in the background, mixed to taste.
- A day streak, and a record of every session you finish.
- Soft instrumental, acoustic and piano suggestions.
Both get
- One player for everything. Files on your device, direct audio links, YouTube and YouTube Music share one queue.
- A visualizer that moves with whatever is playing.
- Seven background sounds. Rain, ocean, wind, fireplace, café, brown and white noise. Swap any of them for a recording of your own.
- Your own sign, if you like. Add your name and birthday and the chart becomes your zodiac constellation. Skip it and nothing else changes.

Listen together, from Chill.
Chill is the only mode with rooms. Start one and friends hear your music and sound mix in sync, and can talk or type. It stays off unless you start or join a room.
How a room works
- 1Open Chill and start a room. You get a link and a six-character code.
- 2Send it to the people you want there. Rooms are never listed anywhere, so only someone with the link or code can join.
- 3They join with a display name. No account, no email. Up to six people.
- 4The room closes when the host ends it, or after two hours without activity.
Safety, before you try it
- Everyone in a room
- Joins muted. Your browser asks before the microphone is used.
- Can hide anyone, which removes their chat and mutes their voice for you.
- Can report a person or a message. Reports are reviewed by a person.
- Can leave at any moment.
- The host
- Can lock the room, mute or remove someone, or end it for everyone.
- The room itself
- Chat is filtered for abusive language and limited to five messages every ten seconds.
- Chat is deleted when the room ends. Voice goes directly between people and is never recorded.
- Rooms are for people 16 and over.
Why it is free.
Cassiopeia is not a business. There are no paid tiers, no ads and nothing to upgrade to. Most of it runs in your own browser, which keeps it cheap to run. Music from YouTube plays in YouTube's own player and follows YouTube's rules. The terms cover the details.
